Seigakuin - International

Seigakuin has a strong commitment to an intenational outlook. Founded by Japanese Christians and American missionaries, Seigakuin Schools have encouraged students to transcend national boundaries and to view history and their own lives in a global context. Particularly in the post-War period, visits by church groups, and student and faculty exchanges have enriched the lives of Seigakuin students. A significant number of graduates choose careers that take them overseas or enter organizations and businesses with international involvements.

Seigakuin International Center, established in 1995, was given the responsibility for coordinating and expanding existing programs of faculty and student exchange, and the responsibility for developing new programs. In addition to carrying out programs sponsored by Seigakuin, the Center offers guidance and counseling for individual students and graduates who desire to study overseas. Lynchburg College and Seigakuin have had a sister school relationship since 1968. Junior College graduates have transferred to Lynchburg College since 1973. Faculty exchanges and short term student exchanges have enriched the experience of faculty and students of Lynchburg and Seigakuin.
